Sprenger KK Ultra Pelham 16 mm

The KK Ultra Pelham 16 mm from Sprenger combines an anatomically adapted bit with versatile leverage – ideal for riders who want to respond specifically to their horse while valuing finely tuned rein control.

Optimized Effect Through Anatomy

The core of the KK Ultra Pelham is the shortened mouthpiece, angled forward by 45°. This special angle allows for even pressure distribution across the entire width of the tongue. Compared to conventional double-jointed bits, the signal transmission is noticeably improved. The mouthpiece rests calmly and comfortably in the mouth without putting pressure on the palate or bars. This anatomical adjustment strengthens the horse’s trust in the rider’s hand. The precise effect is a convincing advantage, especially for sensitive riders.

Versatile Applications

The Pelham bit acts simultaneously on the tongue, lower jaw, and poll – the intensity can be individually adjusted. Depending on the strap setup, you can tailor the leverage to your horse’s needs. In combination with Pelham straps, a gentle introduction to the leverage effect is possible. For advanced horse-rider pairs, using two sets of reins is recommended to create an even more nuanced effect. The short reins ensure your aids reach the horse’s mouth directly and clearly. This makes the bit a reliable companion both in training and competition.

Effective Control with Chin Chain

Optimal function includes the chin chain, which regulates pressure on the poll. It is important that the angle between the lower strap and the mouthpiece allows up to 45° – only then can the chain limit pressure effectively. The combination of direct rein action and controlled leverage creates a balanced connection between rider’s hand and horse’s mouth. Especially at higher training levels, the bit provides the necessary flexibility for refined riding. Thanks to high-quality craftsmanship and thoughtful design, the KK Ultra Pelham is versatile and internationally proven. A true all-rounder for all disciplines – from dressage to jumping.
