Are you looking for Bucas horse rugs that reliably do their job all year round? Then you've come to the right place. Bucas' all-year selection bundles everything your horse needs throughout the year – from light transitional rugs to warm winter rugs. Robustly manufactured, thoughtfully designed, and in many different weights, so there's something suitable for every weather and every type of horse.
Why Bucas Horse Rugs are so Popular in the Stable
For decades, Bucas has been building rugs that live up to their promises in everyday use. The Irish manufacturer is known for its Stay-Dry lining, which wicks moisture away and keeps your horse comfortably dry. In addition, there are well-thought-out details: anatomical cut, plenty of shoulder freedom, and sturdy fastenings that won't give up even in the pasture.
Whether your horse lives in an open stable, spends a lot of time in the paddock, or is rather sensitive to wetness – with the right rug, it will stay relaxed and comfortably warm. Are you unsure about your choice? Just write to us in the chat, we'll be happy to help you.
Outdoor, Stable, or Cooler Rug – Which Bucas Rug Fits?
For outdoors, you need a waterproof Bucas outdoor rug with the appropriate fill: light for summer, medium for autumn, really warm for winter. In the stable, a breathable stable rug ensures a good climate, and after training, a cooler rugquickly wicks moisture away from the coat.
Many models can be extended with a neck part – check out our Neck Parts & Accessoriesfor that. And when it gets really frosty, it's worth taking a look at the BUCAS Winter Seasonwith its thickly padded models. This way, you can gradually assemble the right system for every weather condition from the Bucas horse rugs.
Finding the Right Size and Fill
You measure the size from the middle of the chest to the tail – Bucas states the measurements in centimeters, which makes the choice nice and easy. For the fill, a rough rule of thumb applies: 0–100 g for mild days, 150–250 g for autumn, and 300 g upwards for bitter cold. If your horse has hardly any winter coat because it has been clipped, the rug can be a size warmer.
Frequently Asked Questions about Bucas Horse Rugs
Are Bucas rugs really waterproof?
Yes. The outdoor and rain rugs are built with waterproof outer material and sealed seams, so your horse stays dry even in continuous rain.
Which fill do I need for the whole year?
If you want to stay flexible, combine a light outdoor rug with an under rug. This way, you can easily adjust the warmth to the temperature instead of buying several thick rugs.
Can I combine a Bucas rug with a neck part?
With many models, yes. A suitable neck part also protects against wetness and cold and closes the typical gap at the withers.
How do I care for my Bucas rug correctly?
Coarse dirt is brushed off dry, and it is washed cold with a special rug detergent without fabric softener. This way, the water-repellent impregnation is maintained for as long as possible.
