HKM Eggbutt Bit Apple Flavor 16 mm

The HKM Eggbutt Bit Apple Flavor is 16 mm thick and made of stainless steel with polyurethane.

Mouthpiece and Material

The double-jointed mouthpiece has a center link and adapts well to the shape of the horse’s mouth. The mouthpiece is coated with polyurethane and tastes like apple. According to HKM, this promotes saliva production and chewing activity. The core is made of stainless steel. With an eggbutt bit, the rings are firmly connected to the mouthpiece. This keeps the bit steady in the horse’s mouth.

Sizes

You can get sizes 55/115 width, 65/125 width, 65/135 width, 65/145 width, and 65/155 width. The mouthpiece thickness is 16 mm. The size indicates the ring diameter and bit width in millimeters. Measure your horse’s mouth width before buying. A properly fitting bit extends about 0.5 cm on each Side. If it is too narrow, it pinches; if it is too wide, it slips.

Care and Notes

Rinse the bit with clean water after every ride. Remove any feed residue thoroughly. Check it regularly for wear and sharp edges. Store it in a dry place. A specialist can help you choose a bit if you have any questions. This will keep it comfortable for your horse for a long time.
