After a fall, this inner shell does not return to its original shape – which is why it is so important to have the helmet checked after every fall.
Many riders underestimate this risk and continue riding with a damaged helmet, even though the protective effect is no longer guaranteed. To solve exactly this problem, Samshield is the only brand worldwide that offers an after-sales service where the inner shell can be replaced while keeping the outer shell intact. This way, you can ensure your safety without having to invest in a completely new helmet right away.
This service is available to you up to 5 years after purchasing your helmet – clear proof that a Samshield helmet is a safe and long-term investment.
How the Service Works
Since buying a new helmet is usually associated with high costs, Samshield offers you a smart solution with the exclusive after-sales service. The service allows you to have your helmet professionally inspected and repaired if necessary after a fall.
If your helmet has minor damage, Samshield will properly repair it – in most cases, the helmet can be fully restored. Only the outer shell itself cannot be replaced for safety reasons.
If you purchased your Samshield helmet from our shop, you can easily handle this service through us. Just contact our customer support, and we will take care of the return and inspection directly with Samshield.
Process
As soon as your helmet arrives at the Samshield workshop in Beauvais, it will be carefully inspected by specialized experts. Every single component is thoroughly examined to guarantee you the best possible service and highest safety.
Refurbishment of Aesthetic Elements
If necessary, various aesthetic components of your helmet will be renewed:
- Trim (if not personalized)
- Crest (if not personalized)
- Top (if not personalized)
If your helmet is personalized, the workshop team will check whether a repair is possible. If a replacement is necessary, you will of course receive a cost estimate in advance.
Refurbishment of Technical Components
- Replacement of the inner shell to continue ensuring optimal protection
- For safety reasons, the outer shell cannot be replaced
The entire process has been reviewed and approved by the CRITT laboratory (Centre Régional d’Innovation et de Transfert de Technologie) – for a service that meets the highest quality and safety standards.
The cost for this service is €90 plus shipping costs.
